Bath Time for the Dog

broken image

Some dogs have the habit of just enjoying outdoor time a little too much. They end up coming inside covered with all kinds of mud or dry dirt and whatever else they could find outdoors. Sometimes your dog may come in smelling like some kind of dead animal or worse – a skunk. Dogs like to find a scent and remember it and they may do this by rolling in it. Either way your dog needs a bath. The best way to do this is indoors. Make sure the bathroom is not overly cold. Turn the water to lukewarm. Place a bath mat in the tub so your dog doesn’t slip. Soak him with water, apply the dog shampoo, then rinse. Avoid the ears and eyes. You can use a cloth to wipe at these areas. Dry your dog with a towel thoroughly to ensure he doesn’t get sick from wet fur. Talk to your veterinarians Mattoon, IL for more tips.
