It’s rare, but not uncommon for cats to be born blind. It’s more common for cats to go blind as they age or as the result of an illness. However, there is a cat in the Caribbean known as Honey Bee that was up for adoption at a shelter. He either went blind or was born blind. Either way, the chances of a blind cat getting adopted are slim. However, luck was on Honey Bee’s side and was adopted by a couple that have since become Honey Bee’s ‘seeing-eye’ humans. That’s right, Honey Bee is living a perfectly normal life for a cat. Well, actually, an exceptionally abnormal life for a cat. Honey Bee loves to hike and swim and go on all kinds of crazy adventures. Even though a cat can’t see, he or she still has the other four senses of taste, smell, hearing, and touch. Don’t underestimate a cat with a disability. To learn more, call your vet Washington DC.
