Can My Cat Get A Cold from Being Wet in Winter

broken image

Did you know that cats are a lot like people when it comes to being able to catch a cold? That’s right. A cat’s respiratory tract is very similar to a person’s. This can make cat’s susceptible to catch a cold from their owner or in some cases vice versa. It’s important to keep away from your cat when you are sick or to at least wash your hands often and avoid coughing or sneezing in your cat’s face. Likewise, if it’s cold out and your cat gets a bath or gets wet, please make sure you dry off your at before she goes outside. If he gets wet outside, take your cat indoors, warm her up with warm water, and towel dry her with several towels. Your cat will need to be completely dry before she’s allowed to roam outdoors. Wet fur in the cold air could make your cat sick. Click here to learn more or call your veterinarian Lewisville, TX.
