Keep your bird healthy and happy with a clean cage. Discard any excess food daily so it doesn’t spoil. Monitor the food and water bowls to ensure they don’t become contaminated with droppings or feathers. Sweep up seed hulls or feathers as they fall out of the cage. Schedule a thorough weekly cage cleaning or more often if needed. Take your bird out of the cage where he can be supervised while your clean the cage while he exercises or plays. Remove toys and exercise apparatus from the cage. Wash them with mild soap and water. Clean and scrape the perches with a wire perch brush. Toss the cage liner and wash the cage tray. Scrub the water and food bowls and refill them. Replace the liner and put everything back into the cage. When your bird is done exercising, return it to a nice clean cage.
