As with many animals, there are some that love the water and some that don’t. The same is true for dogs. There are some breeds that love the water (Labradors, Retrievers, Water Spaniel), and some that don’t (Chihuahua, Pug, Basset Hound, etc.). If your dog loves the water, the beach and the ocean then you may want to take him to a local beach to run around and play. Just make sure the beach allows dogs. Some beaches are only dog friendly in the late fall, winter, and early spring. Other beaches may be dog friendly in specially marked areas. Whatever the restrictions are, please observe them so that your dog and other dogs can continue to use the beach at designated times.
