In general, serious long-term problems and fatality are extremely rare in marijuana intoxication in pets, there are newer strains of marijuana that are high concentrated and may pose a more important threat. In fact, there have been deaths of dogs that had been known to consume a concentrated form of marijuana. Exposure to marijuana can make pets anxious and disoriented. They may also lack coordination and may end up injuring themselves. The effect on the nervous system may interfere in their ability to drink water and eat. This can increase their risk for dehydration. Unfortunately, the symptoms of marijuana intoxication is similar to other forms of toxicity.
