Vaccinations and Your Dog

Dog care

Your dog acquires a certain amount of protection from disease while nursing his mother’s milk. However, he will soon need vaccinations to maintain this protection. Some vaccinations are required by law so check with your local animal control organization to understand your responsibilities. Other vaccinations are suggested because of the area you live in and risk of exposure during certain activities. Vaccinations may be given as a single shot, aspirated, or in a series of shots. All vaccinations will require periodic boosters to maintain protection from disease. Never miss these boosters or any vaccinations from a series. Otherwise your dog will be at risk of contracting disease if he is exposed to it. Your dog may be a little cranky or sore at the injection site after receiving a vaccination. Contact your vet White Rock, TX to learn more and set up a comprehensive vaccination plan.
