Your cat tends to shy away from loud noises when she hears them, even if she is within the safety of your home. Why is this?
Your cat may lounge around on your couch most of the day, but she actually still has a lot of wild instincts that her ancestors have passed onto her. This means that she has a strong motivation to maintain her self-preservation skills and running from loud noises is a part of this. Your pet is fleeing in order to get away from potential danger, as she isn’t aware of what caused the noise. This could have saved her ancestors from predators and it helps your cat stay out of trouble should the noise be from something that is a potential hazard. She removes herself from the situation and then assesses what the noise is from in order to better determine her next actions. For additional information, please contact your vets Mt. Airy, MD.
