Will the Vet Trim My Dog's Nails?

broken image

Yes, most veterinarians will trim your dog’s nails during a regular checkup or wellness exam. Your vet or vet tech may also trim the nails on a walk-in basis and for a small fee such as $20 or $25. If you’re not sure if your vet will do this you can always give the office a call. Some veterinarians will trim then nails using regular trimmers or clippers while others may use a dremel tool to grind the nails down. Nail grinding is common for vets and for groomers. It’s easier on the nails and can trim them closer and smoother than general nail clipping. Some dogs, however, have to be held down for this and it may be more uncomfortable for them. You’ll have to see how your dog does. If he has trouble then ask your Plano, TX vet to simply use the clippers. More information here: https://planotxvets.com/
