Do you take your cat in for annual vet visits? If you already take your cat in for routine vaccinations or medication refills, then you may want to consider adding a dental exam to the routine as well. Cats of any age and breed including the Persian breed can develop gum disease during its lifetime. Cats that have bad breath or tartar and plaque buildup could be more at risk for gum disease. Signs of dental problems often include swollen gums, bad breath, trouble chewing or eating, etc. Schedule a dental exam with your vet. Your vet may sedate your cat to take an in depth look at the teeth and gums. Often the vet will take this time to scrape plaque or calculus build-up from the teeth, pull rotted teeth and polish the teeth. Click here to learn more or contact your vets Helotes, TX.
