If your bird’s eye appears to be bulging out of socket then it’s quite possible there is swelling going on behind the eye. You should call your vet immediately to schedule an exam. Your bid’s eye may slightly swell up on the outside if there has been any type of injury or even debris has gotten stuck in the eye. This may also need a vet’s attention as your bird will need the cause of the irritation or swelling flushed or removed from the eye. Some swelling of the eye can come about due to allergies from pollen or other things in the environment. Your vet may recommend a saline solution flush of the eye or even antibiotics if there is possible infection. It’s important to always notify your vet if your bird appears to have anything wrong with his eye. Learn more here or call your vets Derby.
