Some Things To Remember When You're Sharing Some Of Your Food With Your Pet

While it is not advisable for the diet of pets to be composed of foods that their humans eat, you can still give some tablescraps every now and then but in moderation. Also be sure that they don’t contain ingredients that are harmful to dogs. Human food can be full of calories which makes it easier for pet dogs and cats to pile on extra pounds if you are not too careful. Fat-rich foods like bacon, pate, beef trimmings, and meat in gravy are not advisable to be given to dogs and cats because it can increase the animal’s risk to developing pancreatitis. Extra caution should be observed especially in pets that have pre-existing conditions that can be aggravated by eating fat-rich foods. If your pet has diabetes, it is wise to steer clear of giving pasta, rice, and other food off the table that are rich in carbohydrates.
