Treating Fleas and Ticks on Cats

broken image

You can help keep your cat flea and tick free by staying up to date with her monthly flea and tick prevention medication. If your cat has fleas or ticks on her already then may want to give your vet a call and ask for help on how to remove the bugs. For fleas, your vet may recommend a flea shampoo or powder. Not only should you treat your cat, but you should also treat other animals in the home and wash all of the animal’s bedding. You may want to wash all of the people bedding as well. For items that can’t be washed, simply throw them in the dryer on high heat for around 10 to 15 minutes. This can kill fleas and/or ticks. Even if your cat is on a monthly prevention medication there is a possibility that she could still get fleas and ticks so be sure to check her routinely.
