What are the Signs of Myelopathy Paresis and Paralysis in Cats

broken image

Myelopathy paresis and paralysis is a condition that causes weakness in the limbs and may even inhibit mobility in cats. It is not like arthritis or osteoarthritis. It is a more extensive condition that often involves the spinal cord. Your vet will need to examine your cat to determine what type of illness your cat has and whether or not it is related to myelopathy paresis or paralysis. Signs of myelopathy include uncoordinated movements, loss of muscle, decreased tension of the muscles, increased tension of the muscles, problems defecating or pooping, and problems urinating. This type of illness can be heredity or caused by other illnesses including a blood deficiency, tumors, inflammatory and infectious bacterial meningomyelitis, or a traumatic injury. If your cat is having mobility issues talk to your Rochester, NY veterinary clinic. Your cat may or may not have myelopathy paresis and paralysis. More details here: https://rochestercatvet.com/
